Outdoor Opera

OPERATIF! are expert at creating that wonderful atmosphere and grand show which audiences expect at an outdoor opera concert. Performances of outdoor opera by OPERATIF! or their core soloists have taken place in many beautiful locations in Brisbane, North Queensland, New South Wales, the Hunter Valley, the South Pacific and Asia. We plan to make our first Middle East perfomance in Dubai in 2011.

Artists clad in beautiful gowns and elegant tails have thrilled with the sounds of popular opera and song in locations.

These have included the beautiful Lake MacDonald Amphitheatre at Cooroy, the Undara Lava Tubes Amphitheatre, the grounds of various gracious homes and of course, the haunting ruins of the Convict Compound on Norfolk Island.

In the natural acoustic of the Noosa Amphitheatre at Lake Macdonald, Cooroy hear four world-class soloists in a fabulous program of popular opera, operetta, musicals and Neapolitan song. Pack a picnic and your favourite bottle of wine...get there early and enjoy the beautiful lakeside parklands surrounding the Amphitheatre. Then as 3.30pm approaches, take your seat for a
memorable occasion. ( bring a hat )

September's brand-new program will be a glorious mix of opera (including Carmen, Magic Flute, Lakme, loads of Verdi and Puccini , elegant and stirring Viennese operetta, songs from shows and more ! Performers will include Jennifer Parish ( lyric soprano ) , Sally Harrison ( dramatic soprano ), Elizabeth Smalley ( coloratura soprano ), Virgilio Marino ( tenor ) and Stewart Cameron ( baritone ) all accompanied by Scottish-born pianist John Woods.
